I Choose To Be Like Dutch

Our family has been going through some trials with our parents. They are getting older and with that comes change. It seems funny that your parents take care of you and then one day the roles switch.

I was talking to my Sister-in-law on the phone as I was walking out to the barn and we were discussing concerns regarding the situation.... and I was sad... real sad. But just then I looked out in the field and there was Dutch our crazy puppy/dog/goober and he was running through our field, with not a care in the world. His ears were bouncing and he was looking back like the playful creature that God made him to be.

Running and rolling for no apparent reason.. so happy. That's Dutch. He's the maker of nests in which he hides all his loot at he steals from around the farm.
And he's always ready for a good time. He's only had two bad days in his whole life... those two days involved a very fresh skunk.

And as I continued to talk on the phone... I shared with my Sister-in-law that I now choose to have Dutch's attitude. I want to run through fields and not have a worry in my life. I want to be a maker of mischief and cause somebody to look at me and choose to be tickled and happy, instead of sad.

So today I dedicate this blog to our Dutch... the only dog I know that runs ahead of Grandpa and Grandma's car as a escort to lead them safely to the main road to get home.

Life is brighter with the Dutchinator,
